That date right up there ^^^ will be a date that lives in infamy. Glorious infamy.
Be warned, it's gonna be a long post. About me mushing & gushing.

It started out like every other Christmas Eve. Lazy, relaxing and preparing for Grandma Odette's homemade lasagna and prime rib. I invited Cody weeks in advance so I could make sure and lock him down to spend the holidays with me, but he said his Nana and Papa were already planning on spending Christmas Eve at his house. I tried relentlessly to get him to bail and spend it with me. I'm more important, durr. But to no avail, he wouldn't budge. To make up for it he suggested we start a new Christmas Eve tradition together; drive around town and see all the lights all while sipping hot cocoa, listening to Christmas music, and then opening one present from each other. He NEVER wants to do things like that, so I jumped on the oppurtunity and ignored the fact that it was super out of the ordinary for him.

But, that night came and we got ready (in our Christmas pajamas) to head over to my Grandma's. I loved seeing all my family, but I was super distracted because Cody was the only thing on my mind. We did our usual; ate way too much, watched A Christmas Movie (best movie ever), and opened presents. My anxiety was getting the best of me, so I left early to go spend the rest of my night with Cody.

I pulled up to his house, and out he came. Dressed in baby blue..the color I LOVE on him I love the most. It brings out his baby blue's the best :)

But we got in the car, and headed on our way. We saw lots of gorgeous Christmas lights but there was one home in particular that was ah-may-zing. It was in Bloomington Hills and there was not a freaking leaf in their yard that didn't have lights on it. I don't know how they didn't short out the whole city of St. George. Seriously it was to die for. I wish I would've taken a picture. But we kept driving, holding hands, laughing and enjoying the night. We were almost done and I asked Cody if there were any other homes he wanted to see. He suggested the center of town right next to the Tabernacle. I agreed so that's where we headed.

We got out and were walking around holding hands. It was freezing cold, and I forgot a jacket. Typical me. Oh, and I don't forget I'm in my cheesy Christmas pj's. Freezing! Then Cody suggested we open our presents here.I raised my eyebrows and said, "Here? It's freezing. Let's open them in the car." He laughed and told me I'd have to tough it out and open the presents out in the cold. I rolled my eyes, and we went to the car to grab our presents. His was a big box and so was mine.

We sat close to the Carousel and he insisted that he open his first. He got through the box and loved the shirts and jackets I bought him.
Next was my turn. He stood up in front of me and handed me the big box. I unwrapped it; it was a yoga ball box. "Gee, thanks Cod", I said. He laughed and told me to keep going. I opened the yoga ball box to find another box. And another, and another. Finally I got down to a little tiny bag inside the last box. I opened the bag and saw a jewlery box at the bottom. And nothing registered. It looked like a Juicy Couture box, so I was super stoked cuz I thought he got me the gorgeous Juicy earrings I asked for. I opened the box, and nothing was in there. I looked up at him, and he had a shit eating grin on his face and said, "Just kidding! Your present is wrapped under the tree at my house. I totally got you!" (typical Cody, by the way. Such a freaking punk.) So I laughed, called him a smart ass, and turned around to put the jewelry box back in the bag. As I turned back to face him, he was on his knee, ring in hand. I will never, ever, ever, forget the look on his face and the sincerity in his eyes as he said, "Carly, will you marry me?" The first words out of my mouth were, "Are you serious? Are you freaking kidding me?" I was in total and complete shock. I didn't see it coming at all. Then, when I realized he really was serious, I burst into tears and said yes. My throat got tight, and the butterflies in my tummy were on steroids. It was the best feeling in the world. I held him, and he held me back as I cried and told him over and over again how much I loved him. It was amazing.
We floated back to the car and made our phone calls. My mom was the first and before I even said anything, she said, "So, what did you say??" She totally knew and kept the secret from me! And come to find out, EVERYONE knew! Seriously everyone. My family, his family, friends, friends at the gym..it was nuts. We took a few pics in our elatedness, and of course, I couldn't seem to get a decent one. Oh well.

We went to my house to show it off, and made some more phone calls. Then headed to his house to show it off, and snuggled with each other for hours before I went back home.
I slept so soundly that night, and woke up to realize that last night wasn't a dream. It was amazing :)

see? I didn't even get the ring in this one. And he's wearing a new jacket I got him so you can't see his baby blue shirt!
I think my sisters were more excited than me..

The picture does it no justice. Oh, and he picked this beauty out all by himself (Mikelle helped :))

And for the record, I was totally shocked. Like I didn't know he was going to propose. At all. Well, kinda.
At the beginning of December we (me, Annie, and Cody) were in the car, and I got out for a second, and climbed back in and Annie was freaking out. Like, hyperventalating. I couldn't get her to tell me what her deal was, and later that night she was like, "I KNOW WHAT CODY IS GETTING YOU FOR CHRISTMAS!!" That had me suspicious. Then, like a day later, my dad came home from work and was like, "Why does your boyfriend want to talk to me??" That right there gave it away. Cody was at work so I texted him and asked what I was getting for Christmas. After an hour of begging, he gave me a hint and said it was something electronic. I replied back and asked why he needed to talk to my dad. He replied and said he was thinking of taking me a on a cruise for Christmas and wanted to make sure my parents were okay with it. My heart sunk. It made sense in my mind, so I gave up on the hope of an engagment ring for Christmas. Obviously, I was wrong.

2012

So, I never do resolutions but I think this year is the first to start.
First on the list:
-Clean up my mouth! I'm embarrassed to admit it, but I swear way too often! It's a bad habit :(
Second:
-No more soda. I've done pretty well since starting my Body for Life thing, but on my free days I go nuts. So, no more. I've got Soph going in on it with me, so she'll have to be my rock.
Third:
-Eating more natural non-processed foods. I've never paid a lot of attention to what is in my food and how processed it is, until recently, and it sickens me! So, I'm going green. Plus, I've got a wedding dress to fit in! (Those words look so foreign and weird.)
And Fourth:
-Keeping a more consistent gym/cardio schedule. My mom is going to kill me for even thinking this..Sorry Ma!

So, here's to a new year and an improved me. It's about freaking time.
Wish me luck.
